I have moved into this little house in Louisville. It's a sweet little place (but seems enormous after living in a 1-room flat in Tokyo). It's 3 rooms with a yard and garage. I can rent it until it sells or until I finish The Project, whichever comes first. Hopefully no one will buy it for a couple months

I absolutely consider an octopus shower curtain to be a good sign. Also, I have serious iPad jealousy.

The octopus shower curtain certainly sealed the deal! But I was super lucky to find the place, since I only will be here for a few months. It is owned by a really nice young kind of hipster couple (he is a musician / cheesemaker, she is a photographer) who have bought another house and are trying to sell this one. So if it sells, I'm out...but meanwhile, I pay cheap rent as long as I keep it clean and ready to show.

Ancient documents are crazy, man! I just found another one signed by Elizabeth. That makes three, I think, or maybe four. I get breathless when I touch them. Of course they are all in Latin so I have no idea what they say, probably boring shit about land or marriage or whatever. But still!
