Yesterday I arrived home from the parents' place in time to catch a most amusing segment on the local late Fox news hour. "Britain's favorite lyrics" had been determined in the UK and our local anchor was assigned to read them to us. The #1 winner was U2's "One" with "One life, with each other, sisters, brothers." The extended 12-inch vinyl of "How Soon is Now" (with "please, please, please let me get what I want" as the flipside) is one of two vinyl albums that have not left my posession since high school.
I love imagining a newscaster reading the lyrics....

That's hilarious.

I've come to the sad conclusion that, in order to rebel as a teen, Lillian will have to listen to chipper, perky, happy music with uplifting lyrics on account of a childhood spent having The Smiths sung to her.
