Wow, what a time that was! Been and seen the best and the worst of it. Now I am back at Humboldt getting my shit together. Working hard on research papers. Got's to get this done. Anywho been down lately so busy and tired but I keep on trucking. I miss you!! I am ashamed to admit.

So this pass week has been the most hectic so far. As part of the Estacion Libre delegation into Zapatista territory it has been a go go go since I got here. Right now I am writing from Oventic which is Caracol #2, it has been the site of many confrontations of zapatista rebels against the mexican military. So I had the bussiest week so far. I had a butt load of work to finish and turn in before Friday. Though our program runs till August 5 I will be leaving prematurly on Sunday to go to San Cristobal de Las Casas in Chiapas. I will be running around with Estacion Libre learning and organinzing against the Capitalist encrochment into Zap terretory. ( Read more... )

I can´t belive that my time is almost up! I am really not wanting to go back home. This is the first oh wait second weekend I have had a chance to spend in Oaxaca. Don´t know what to do with my self. Got a lot of work to do so I will work on that a bit. This weekend is also the Guelagetza which should be interesting. But any who just wanted to write a few words. Will type more later.

So Fernando Ramos proposed three possible locations where I would be able to actualize the kind of work I want to do. I choose a little town called Yauiche located 15min from Guelatao. So part of the program requires me to do community service work. I choose to work in the local indigenious communities. The person that was assigning us our positions was having a hard time finding a spot for us. Eventually she took us to "La commission para el desarollo de pueblos indeginas (CDPI)".
