Agreed, see a doctor.

What helped me was getting my tonsils removed. I used to get ear infections/sore throats about once a month for years and years...haven't had it once since I had my tonsils out.

Apparently putting hydrogen peroxide on a q-tip and sticking it in there helps sometimes. At least that's what my husband tells me.
