Sporks & Restaurants

I'm not a serious 'foodie' but I play one on a limited budget. I like good food, good value and small mom n' pop kinds of places rather than chain restaurants. eisenhund has encouraged me in my growing foddie-ness and accompanies me on many of our journeys. Last night while trying out Bokitas, a new tapas place, we discussed a ( spork rating system. )

How was it cost-wise? I've been dying for some paella and thats super close to me, I might head there for dinner tonight or tomorrow.

And if you get the opportunity I highly reccomend Goin' Coastal in downtown Canton as well as its sister restraunt Dowtown Kitchen. Both excellent and innovative.

I'll look those up. The meat dishes are in the $7-9 range with sides in the $4-5 range, and its Tapas so the portions are small. A "small" portion of paella (meant for 3ish people) is $13.50. That's what I'm going to try next time. The owners are nice ladies who are both Spanish, so the spices are traditional. We stuffed ourselves for $50. If I'd been in a reasonable portion mood I could have gotten away with just one meat dish and two sides for myself.

It is a 3 on the boy's scale, certainly. On my scale, I guess it might go as high as a 2, but its hot dogs and I've had 'em once a week for nearly 2 years.
