DOWN SHIFT

It really bothers me in movies/commercials/shows where someone is wanted to go faster and need MORE power and they shift UP a gear. B/C heck yea 6th gear is known for its power curve.

This bother anyone else?

That is why I love favorite movie so much since it appears he shifts properly.

I thought they were always downshifting. At least, it sounds like it.

Most people don't know how to drive a standard or understand how their automatic works, and this includes the people who make movies.

This is merely a visual representation of action taken by the driver.

It's hard to get the camera man to fit in the drivers side foot well to show the action of the driver stepping on the gas. The only real action that can be caught by camera is the driver manually shifting gears.

So, correct or not, it gets the message across that the driver is taking action.
