I like this! Established relationships are one of my favorite things to read about. I loved Ed and Al's conversation!

Thank you! I'll be back to finish this as soon as I've wrapped up The Compass Rose. <3

I love itttt! I really like the 'coming out into public eye' stories and in particular where you see glimpses of how other people (often complete strangers or minor characters) view the 'heroes' of the story. This one promises to be awesome!

Thank you so much! I really like both those things too, and am striving to do them well with this story.

Just read this over again, cause I read it when you initially posted and at the time I hadn't slept in well over 24 hours. *laughs* But yay! Belated flail and squee in your direction!

This verse. I just love it so hard. (It has taken over as my accepted headcanon, have I told you that? Cause omg.)

Their lives are normal again! Relatively, I guess. *laughs* Well, they're not running for their lives anymore, I guess is a better way to put it. But yay them being able to be together. --At least in front of the team and those closest to them. That is a step in the right direction! At least it's not entirely taking place behind closed doors. Sad for them having to deal with the press and public not knowing about them though. :( But you've done them well! It's not all shiny sparkly relationship now that he's made it to the top, and that's exactly how it should be. With all the bad that comes with being the ruler of a country. I kind of love that everything isn't perfect for them and that even with everything, they're more unwilling to lose ( ... )

Late reply is late! Thanks for the lovely review, so glad you're enjoying. And it is super-flattering to hear that you like this verse enough to adopt it as headcanon!

I like them and their relationship best lovely and imperfect and trying. <3 So I'm glad you're enjoying this and TCR too!

Another wonderful story - It's something thrilling about the fact that Ed and Roy are together but to the public Roy have to play the role of bachelor.
I think that making toffe/chocolate decision may be the good way to choose options (But I would choose toffe and chocolate :P)

Late reply is late! Glad you're enjoying! The situation is very stressful for poor Roy and Ed but it does make for a good plot to play with!

I'd choose toffee every time. XD

Lettered's been posting cool thoughts about dramatic irony, and how sometimes you can talk about it in terms of actual textual truths that various characters are or aren't aware of, but sometimes you can talk about it -- or maybe there's a similar concept with a different name? -- in terms of reader expectation: I, unlike Ed, am aware that he's inside a story, and stories can generally be counted on to adhere to certain kinds of arcs. (Especially stories involving Elrics.)

It's fun to think about, because you're currently writing a suspenseful drama in which I have no idea what's coming, and I love it. And here's this, where I can see what's coming a mile away, and I love it just as much. I'm bouncing in my seat with wanting the next part.

I love seeing everybody back in the office, bantering again.

I also just love the way Ed and Roy relate to each other. They make so much sense as a couple, in your hands.

Ah, thank you for such a sweet review! Yes, this as a story doesn't really have a twist ending, it's more about enjoying the journey. Hopefully I can make it fun and interesting all the way through.

And it's oddly reassuring to hear you don't know what's next in TCR! I try. Plotting big suspenseful political plot is hard because you want a suspenseful ride with unexpected things, but also for it all to make sense in retrospect!
