Hooray!

I received an email this morning informing me that my paper titled "Modeling and Properties of a Flux-Pinned Satellite Network" has been accepted to the AAS/AIAA Astrodynamics Specialist Conference at Mission Point Resort, Mackinac Island, Michigan over Aug 19-23.

Whee!!

Now I just need to write the thing...

Wait, you can get a paper into a conference without actually having to write it?

Yeah, its weird. You send them an extended abstract (~4 pages in my case) and they judge that. The actual paper is submitted sometime before the conference.

WANKER!!! krotech May 15 2007, 04:58:50 UTC
I didn't get published in grad school - my boss didn't write the paper I worked on the data for until after I left. (And didn't ask me to review it, which is a No-No.)

But that's not why you're a wanker. You're a wanker (and I'm going to keep saying that) because you get to go to MACKINAC ISLAND FOR A CONFERENCE!!!

You TOTALLY win. Wanker.

Since you're such a buggy fan, make sure you rent a buggy while you're there. With a horse. You can get around the island and past the fort in a little under two hours. And you won't be dodging cars, because there aren't any allowed on the island. It's a fun place. And the Grand Hotel is famous (you'll see it - it's the biggest thing on the island). B has seen it in a movie - "Somewhere in Time." Maybe you have too.

Lucky lucky lucky. And congrats on your paper!

KRO
