My grandfather on my mother's side passed away two days ago on his way home from a monthly Experimental Aircraft meeting. I'm heading down to Dallas for a few days to be with my family.

Here is one of the more personal things I've written in a long time. Thanks for your thoughts, all of you.

It would cost me over $1.4k to get home for Thanksgiving. I don't think I can make that.

What the hell am I doing here, in the middle of nowhere NY, where the happiest day is when I get to THINK about seeing my friends when I go visit another city?

Your bed squeaks freakishly loud at 12:45am. I appreciate the lack of accompanying "animal noises" as my associate Buster would say. If you require funds for whatever repairs it would take to remove the noise, I would gladly cover the cost of some cheap, splintery plywood for you to use in place of your current happyplace of substandard ( Read more... )

I've been thinking a lot about dogs recently. Unfortunately, due to living arrangements and time schedules, this next year I shall remain pet-less. Today I finally went out to Fuertes Observatory for their public viewing hours, and a couple of significant things happened. I arrived a little after sunset and ended up leaving sometime close to 11pm.
