UHF

Wow. My wife is so young that she doesn't know what UHF is and didn't recall that there were two dials on the TV when growing up.

Ok, she did remember the two dials when pressed, but did not realise what they were for.

Ridiculous as it is, my first association for UHF is still "that Weird Al movie". Wheel of Fish!

Then again, the village where I grew up still only gets four non-satellite channels. And it was pretty exciting when we started getting Channel 4! And would I trade all the stations I currently get to have those four back? Yes, yes I would.

Oddly enug the movie UHF is how it came up in conversation. Me: "I actually found his movie UHF to be surprisingly good", L: "What's UHF", Me: "Ummm. Ultra high frequency, I think", L: "No, what is UHF?", Me: "you know, channels 14-83 or something", L: "Huh?"

When I saw the post, I thought of the film first... kathbad November 1 2006, 16:26:42 UTC
"You took the box? Let's see what's in the box! Nothing! Absolutely nothing! STUPID! You're so STU-PIIIIIIIIIIID"

I seem to have two copies of it on DVD, and am not sure how that happened...

*waves* Oh and hello too...

Wait-a-minute...

I know what UHF is, Dave knows what UHF is... (and he's the same age as WifeMonster).

Then again, I didn't have cable TV until 1987. Heck, my last paper was on how the US needs to retool it's frequency allocations)

I'm mad that the "television band" shower radio I got only picks up VHF band.
