I made my first dumplings ever today. New Years Sweet Dumplings. Not bad, but also not great. I consider this to be practice. Next time I try harder to get the stuff round and not leak black bean goo all over the pot.

I also finally caught up with LJ after not reading while up in Whitby.

Black bean paste + sugar inside rice flour.

No matter how hard I try with Pyrohy (perogi) - I always end up with one or two that leak/explode during cooking..
less now.. but..

I did not have trouble with explode, but i was having a bit of a pain with the "wrap outide entirely around contents" idea.

I think my problem with round was having the patience to make them round before going in the water. I suspect I may not have the temperment for dumplings.
