One last time at Oriental City?

Since Oriental City is closing at the end of the month, I'd like to make one last visit. Kind of like we used to when it was newish in the mid-90s.

I'd like to go this Sunday. Time to be worked solidified later when I have less of a morning head. I'm thinking meet at 1100am [edit] 3pm at the arcade end? We all have mobiles now, so really, just ( Read more... )

Ah- I'm saddened to hear it is closing. Despite not having been for years it was nice to think such a bizzare place existed.
I have to work on Sunday at Twickers alas, but have a lovely time.
That phone by the way, has no display at all so I fear that I will have no need for that SIM. At least I can still say "thanks for the memory"

I am interested, but can't do Sunday. I think I can do Saturday, and if the weather is shit on Monday so I don't go to the Kingston Green Fair, I am free then as well. :-)

oh man. I didn't realize it was closing so soon. Very sad indeed. I woudl like to say we'll be there, but the reality is that we're complete flakes and so won't know until about 20 minutes beforehand if we're gonna make it or not.

I have not made it there yet... suppose this is my last chance? How do you get there public transport wise?

It's about 1/2 hour on the northern line from kings cross. It's in zone 4.

Alternatively: It's about 3 hours by bus. A better option is to walk the 5 1/2 miles from Egdeware Road station along the A5. It'll take less time than the bus at least.

It's near colindale.
Get out of the tube. Turn right. Walk about 8 min til you hit edgeware road.
Cross st, and turn right. It's the 1st big mall you see
