Bloody firefox

Jul 14, 2008 20:10

Right, so, I've decided to try to "upgrade" from Mozilla to Firefox 3. Amazing amounts of usefull stuff appears to no longer be available, but, I suppose it's out ther as add ons or plugins or hidden menus or whatever. Anyone want to help me find:
  • Cookie Manager (ie block/allow cookies for this site)
  • Image Manager (ie block/allow images for this site ( Read more... )

The about window clearly says "Firefox 3", so one of us is a bit confused.

Apparently, the document toolbar thing can be done by creating a new toolbar and putting those buttons on it. Ok. That was me not looking hard enough.

The tools options privacy has nothing to say allow or block cookies from the current site, which is bloody annoying. Grumble. Still not liking.

yes upgrade.

vastly better.

cookie wise - just set to 'ask me every time' and you get the choice to deny all/accept all/accept session only for each site you visit.

addons : addblock plus, noscript as a minimum.

I frolicked in zippy FF3 joy for about an hour before I had to get some work done. None of the web portals I use for work are supporting FF3 yet, so my productively level took a drastic dive. ... click..click.. why doesn't this @&*%$@*!# button work? .....

I gave up and reverted. I still have a DMG of 2.0.0.11 if you want to go back.

they do have this nifty 'open an IE window in Firefox' thingy now...

My reason for installing firefox is that some recent update to IE (or perhaps something else) has made IE crash after about 10 min of use (and sites like FB have stopped supporting mozilla), so I had to use some kind of modern browser.
So a "open ie window" would defeat the point.

i've been using it for about 2 weeks. the 'theme' i had been using hasn't released a compatible version yet so dislike the standard firefox look, but have been pretty pleased with most of the new inclusions.
