Last night: A Play About an Island. Which definitely met and exceeded my expectations, especially in terms of the acting. The script did have awkward and slightly self-indulgent moments, but I thought it was also an original twist on the Tempest, and had some really perfect lines to make up for the duds. Just finished my the speaking section of the Spanish LPE (that's the placement test to see if I can take a 3000-level class). It made me realize how much I miss speaking (and living) Spanish. The Christian rock/pop radio station just played an absolutely wonderful song that sort of surprised me. It's called "Does Anybody See Her", it's by Casting Crowns, and it refers to The Scarlet Letter and is pretty much a plea for tolerance. And it's great. 

So, on the one hand I have this very important paper that's worth 35% of my grade and that I have to have a rough draft of by Tuesday so a classmate can edit it.

On the other hand, I have Youtube.

No prizes for guessing what I spent the vast majority of today doing. Hint: I feel extremely guilty.

The orchestra concert was incredible and beautiful, if shorter than I expected. Chamber sounds really polished. And all my muffins were sold, which was also a plus. Now all I have to worry about is OUR concert tomorrow, which I'm so not ready for (especially after missing band today... oops. Late start is the devil ( Read more... )

Today was a wonderful awesome day, despite the fact that the Senior Awards list is kind of lame and unimaginative. At least it's enjoyable making fun of it. "Should have been a couple" is my favorite category, despite its apparent awkwardness, because it's different and intriguing.

Today was a lot of fun. I actually did chores at home (walked the dogs, did laundry) and then I got to spend time at Heidi's with a bunch of cool people.
