Well, here it is, my 100 favorite movie moments list. The list is actually a very honest representation of the sorts of films I've seen since the beginning of my 19 years on this Earth. A lot of scenes are favorites because the resonate with a certain memory. Some of the movies are excellent, some of them are, well... not very good. I learned two ( Read more... )

good call with the full metal jacket scene, though I particularly appreciate pvt. joker's reaction of complete horror when he sees just who the sniper is

Well, I've seen a lot more than this, but if this is a representation of what I've been watching as a whole, it's really just a dip in the shallow end. There's a lot more work out there that I want to see.

You like a lot of really disturbing movie moments, it seems - eyes getting cut up, women getting nailed to death (zing!). I am going to chalk this up to an interest in the technology of filming such a scene? Plus you have a lot of heartwarming and funny moments on here too, so that balances out.

That shot in The Exorcist prevented me from closing my eyes in the shower for months. Thanks for reminding me. :)

Those scenes were chosen because they were interesting, they were powerful. There were other moments in Tetsuo: The Iron Man that were just as powerful, but would only be interesting within its own context. The drill is interesting regardless :-)

Okay, I can understand that. I think a lot of my own personal favorite movie moments - even though I can only think of one now - have to do with the aesthetics of the scene and how it's set up, as well as my own emotional reaction to it.

well, okay, i can think of two.
