i leave for iraq on august 17th and i come home for two weeks of leave from october 24th until november 13th then i go back to the sandbox, yay! hooray for bullets flying through the air.

Alaska sucks, well Fairbanks does anyway. I hate being away from home. Everyone back at home has no idea how good they have it. I know I signed up for this and got myself into it, but I felt I had to do it. But it doesn't matter now, I'm in it, all the damage is done. I don't know how I'm gonna do this. Pictures, letters and e-mail just doesn't cut it.

So far today is awesome, took a walk around good ol' E.Roch. just to bring it all in before I leave. I also walked home from the old Lois E. Bird school to bring back old memories from when I used to walk home back in the old days. No one realizes it here about how well we have it to live in such a small beautiful town. I envy all of you.
