I haven't updated because I haven't done anything interesting all week. That would probably include the weekend too, since it was the sort of weekend that when people ask about it on Monday, I won't be able to say I did anything, since I did not go to any parties or away anywhere or climb any mountains or anything. yeah, with my container gardening in Ontario I think I put in more than I got out (the fresh herbs were probably about the most worthwhile compared to grocery store prices, because with living plants you can only cut what you need instead of trying to use up the rest of the package before it wilts). We currently have basil, oregano, thyme, and cilantro.

I'm really looking forward to the insanely long growing season I'll have here. We already have three small tomatos growing on our plants, and the peas, beans, carrots, and onions we planted from seed are all sprouting/growing (the peas and beans will need support soon!). Have already used two small banana peppers; also have bell peppers, cayenne peppers, okra, strawberries, and a few lettuces in the ground. We're going to be able to regularly make salads and salsa from our garden.

Wow, I'm jealous. Sounds like when I lived at Millshaw, I had various things in planters and they all did super well without much care from me, and I made salsa with my tomatos, onions, and peppers.

Here the season is sooo short, can't really plant until the end of May and it will be getting cold at night again by early September. I'm just doing tomatoes, and only cherry ones because there isn't time for full size, and my swiss chard. When I had my community garden plot we also had good luck with the peas, beans and zuchinni, but I don't have space at my house for those.
