Great conference, horrible food. I didn't have a decent meal the whole time. And with air quality worse than New York City, New Orleans smells like a giant diaper. But complaints about the city aside, I had an awesome time and met a ton of new people. I was invited to be on one of the panels so my conference costs were waived. Tons of talk about the alumni association, the board of trustees, and the George Peabody award for teaching excellence. Not much talk about the graduating class.

The speaker was George Crumb. Not bad except for the fact that he talked about himself the whole time.

Since one of the rooms in our house was vacated I decided to take it over as a mastering room. However, this effectively doubled my rent from $400 to $800. I was hoping that the incoming work would at least pay for the room itself, but recently its been steady enough to pay for both rooms, so I'm happy.
