flutterbychild posted this a few minutes ago, and I really think that, like most of the "it gets better" videos that have been put into the spotlight, this one should be seen, maybe more than most--I feel like, not only does the president's voice carry more weight, but what he said was spoken with more eloquence than most of us can muster

Holy crap that was awesome. It brought me to the brink of tears.

I hope i can convince riordon to watch it. My goodness, I wish I could convince everyone to watch it, pretty much everywhere. That is the America that most americans want to be proud of, wether they know it or not. That is the America that people outside of America should know exists, despite all the propaganda levelled them by their government and news media, and that is the america Americans should believe in, despite the propaganda levelled at them by their news media and government. That Is the kind if america I would want to be a part of, but those who do not understand that vision of America and their overwhelmingly high degree of influence are the reason I am not, and have no sought citizenship here.

A lot of the videos from the project have had me really weepy- maybe because I was the kind of kid who needed to hear that message so much, and never really did.
Jason watched it, and it wasn't too much of a struggle (but I've also made him watch most of the ones that have popped up on my FB, so he's sort of waiting for them at this point.) I don't think it should be too hard to convince Rio to watch it--even kids who may be hesitant at first, I think, have to give pause to the idea--most kids get shit for who they are in one way or another, and it's good to hear that you're not alone.
Like I said, I was really proud that the president chose to participate in this project, when he could have just as easily stood silently on the subject.
