Okay, so I just recently became aware of the situation with smoking laws in Calabasas, CA. You're not permitted to smoke in Calabasas unless you're on your own property (preferably in your backyard) or in your own car. That's it. That is ridiculous. It's going the same way in the UK and it is kind of distressing. I wouldn't even class myself as a smoker, but it's quite clearly an unnecessary constraint on people's freedom regardless of where you're coming from.

Yeah, I don't think that it really matters if it's smoking or not. Like I wouldn't call myself a smoker either, but I just don't like anything like this. It makes me nervous...

Explain? This makes no sense, as clearly it is not illegal to own cigarettes...

from what i've heard from the kids that live there is that if you're out on the street and are twirling cigarettes around or have the package out, they'll come up and remind you about the law.
