There's a flash of fur as the kitten backs away from the canvas bag, dragging a rectangular package out of it and chewing through the tinted red wrapping as her owner speaks

They usually don't do that unless they're hungry. And it looks like yours is still young. They start hunting when they're a little older.

I feed her as much as I can, given the circumstances. I've had a cat before, just... not while he was still a kitten.

You can still train pets, though.
