A piece of good news: funding is sorted for my chest. Looks like a bit of a mild admin/lack of communication thing. Now if I'd known there was a funding NONissue in the first place, I could have had it sorted pre-Pip! Grrrrrrrrrrrr.
Still, it's good news. My next trip down south=sorting out my chest. Finally. -

Infections etc
Well the infection looks like it made a little headway in between antibiotics yesterday. I sure hope this next round wipes it out quickly, as I'm sick of looking at unhealthy tissue! Time for the next dose ( Read more... ) -
Update
The nurse has been, with an extra one who will be joining her team at some point. Changed dressings and put extra stuff on to try to lift the slough. Yucky gooey stuff, but quite strong in its own right. Yuck. She said it's looking better though, in terms of redness, so the last course of antibiotics has at least helped a little. Day 21 (I think... what day is it anyway!?)
It's a gorgeous sunny day outside. I've just done some marking for about an hour, and have already gone for a big walk down to the first oak tree on the driveway and back. I have been wondering if one of the reasons I might be so tired by lunch is that I haven't been getting enough exercise, so that was today's effort. It felt really good, ( Read more... ) -
Update
Well the nurse came--she seemed quite inexperienced. No manuka dressing arrived with her. We just redressed the wound same as before and left it at that. It's sore in an annoying kind of way, so I'll probably take something for it soon--ibuprofen if I can find it ( Read more... ) -
Stiff and sore
and waiting for the district nurse to arrive to change these darned dressings. They're annoying me now, and I want to see what progress has been made (particularly because they're uncomfortable right now...want to rip them off). Curious to see the manuka dressing, too, should that materialise. Wonder how early/late she'll show. That's the only ( Read more... ) -
