"While you're doing that, I'll take Molly out for one last time and meet you upstairs," Giles answered before softly kissing Fred's cheek. He said goodnight to Lorne and started down the foyer, with Molly on his heels. He picked up the stack of posts that had accumulated while they'd been in Bath and Los Angeles.
Opening the back door, Giles watched as the puppy ran outside. He looked through the posts, while glancing outside every once in a while. When Molly was finished, Giles let her back in and went upstairs. He sighed when he saw the bed he shared with his wife. Giles was looking forward to sleeping in his own bed again.
He went to the bathroom and washed himself up before changing into his pajamas. Giles then placed the posts on the dresser and turned down the bed. After taking off his glasses, Giles slipped under the covers and waited for his wife to join him.
While Rupert disappeared toward the back, Fred turned to her friend and smiled. "Come on. I'm sure you want to rest," she said, taking Lorne to the guest bedroom and opening the door

"I agree with you, love," Giles said as he pulled his wife closer and softly kissed her lips. "I do believe in the last two weeks, we haven't spent enough time together. Between the wedding, and going to Los Angeles, I was beginning to forget what it was like to have you to myself. I'm a bit selfish, you see." He smiled at her kissed her again, this time deeper and more persistent.
When he pulled away, Giles took a couple deep breaths before grinning. "I thought perhaps we could use the next two days getting ready to move into the house," he said before softly kissing her neck. "If we don't move in soon, my parents are going to think we don't want the house." He slowly slid his hand up her stomach and then over her breasts.
"Did you get Lorne settled?" Giles asked before he went back to kissing Fred's neck. "And you gave him some proper blankets and pillows, yes? And you aren't too tired, are you? If you are, I can stop, love."
"We haven't had a lot of time to ourselves, have we?" she said, a bit out of breath from the last kiss her husband had given her. "I think we should be a bit selfish

Giles watched as his wife fell asleep before settling down and falling asleep himself. When he awoke again, it was morning and Molly was poking him with her nose. He glanced over and noticed Fred was still sleeping. "Come on, Molly," he said, picking up the squirming puppy. They left the room and went down to the kitchen, where Lorne was, looking out the back door

When Fred woke up, she realized that she alone in the bed. She hadn't even awakened when her husband had got up from bed - the jet lag must have hit her harder than she had thought, especially after the weekend they had experienced

"Morning, love," Giles said when Fred appeared in the kitchen. He returned her kiss and turned back to the paper as she poured her tea and sat down beside him. "Nothing of much interest. The PM mucking things up again but that's quite typical of him." Giles folded up the paper and glanced at the kitchen clock

Fred smiled up at Rupert before he headed out of the kitchen before turning to look over at Lorne. "You're looking a lot better this morning," she told him. "How's the arm

Giles peeked in the wine at the gift baskets. The shop was known for it's fine chocolates and wine, and he nodded. "Brilliant idea, love," he said, placing a kiss on the top of her head. "Perhaps we could get something for ourselves too." Giles planned on spending as much time in bed with his wife as possible over the next two days

Fred grinned at Rupert and nodded before he headed to the back of the store, then turned to look at the gift baskets sitting in the display by where she was standing. They ranged from the simple with one bottle of wine and one box of chocolate to the very grand with several boxes and a few bottles. She was trying to decide what to get when a saleswoman approached

Giles examined the basket and nodded. "It's perfect, love," he said before kissing her temple. He sat the container of dipping chocolate on the counter and waited for the woman to ring up their purchases. Giles asked the woman to have the basket delivered to Charlotte's flat, and she nodded before writing down the address.
He took Fred's hand again and led her out of the shop. Down the street was a small bakery that had outdoor seating. "Lets go get some tea and pastries," he said, leading her down the pavement. When they got to the bakery, he found them a table and pulled a chair out for her. Once she was seated, he down beside her.
It was turning out to be a beautiful morning and Giles smiled. "I'm glad we're doing this together," he said as took her hand. "I love being able to spend time with you. Now, what would you like? I'll go inside and order it for you."
Fred smiled when he suggested they get something to eat, especially since they hadn't had anything that morning except for some tea before they had left to drop Lorne off at the Slayer house. Sitting down when Rupert pulled her chair out for her, she thanked him softly before turning to him once he sat down beside her.
"I'm enjoying this too. It's nice to actually get to be a regular married couple for a few days without having to worry about vampires and demons and other evil, bad things possibly ruining our day." She squeezed his hand in hers, liking the way it felt to hold it. She didn't think she'd ever get tired of it. "Not that I hate what we do, but it's still nice to get away from it from time to time."
Still holding his hand, she picked up the menu sitting on the table with her free one and gave it a quick readthrough. "I think I'd like a croissant," she said. "With butter and jam if they have it."
Giles walked into the garden shop with Fred and was flooded with memories. Growing up he'd spent a great deal of time with his mother out in her garden, watching her prune the bushes while he sat under the tree with a book in hand. He had even picked up a few tips and pondered if they should have a flower bed of their own come spring

Besides the crops her parents had raised on their farm, the closest Fred had ever had to a garden had been the courtyard outside the Hyperion. She had watered the plants out there on occasion when they needed it and had sometimes made sure they weren't overgrowing and that weeds weren't going to over take them. It was all she could do, considering that they hadn't been able to ever afford a gardener. Although, she thought with a soft snort as they passed some ivy trellises, she was sure Angel could have afforded one ten over now

Giles smiled at his wife, getting ready to pull her face up for another kiss when he too heard someone drop something near by. "I can't help it, love," he whispered to her. "You make me want to do naughty things to you everywhere we go." He kissed her lips again before she pointed out the set. Giles nodded in agreement
( ... )
Fred felt a shudder run through her when she looked down at Rupert and saw the state she was in. Part of her still couldn't get over that she caused that sort of reaction in him, even here in the middle of a shop. She nodded and got up from the lounge chair, going to find the salesman
