I don't know what's worse -- a friend pointed out that it's gotta be the rubber gloves poking around in your mouth. I think it's when they clean your teeth, scraping and what not; I thought the woman was going to rip a tooth out. Thankfully, I have great teeth apparently, and bar missing a little bit when cleaning (due to a slightly poor brushing technique), not a problem nor a hole :)
I hope your results are just as good.

You can add one more suggestion to the list of worse things at the dentist - x-rays. They stick these plastic
film holders in your mouth and then they run and hide when they actually take the x-rays. The damn things hurt your mouth. I had a full set done today.
I also got a cleaning among other things today and got my teeth polished with cherry flavored polish - the other choices were mint and raspberry. I keep asking for chocolate but so far nothing.
Floss and brush, floss and brush!

BUT - half a life later, I learnt there are actually good dentists out there who care about their patients. And try to make visits as painless as possible. I'm not quite as terrified as I was of them now. :)
...But if I ever find that lady who sent me bawling from the room, I'm going to give her cause to consider a new profession. *determined*
