Voting in NC? Something you need to know

If you intend to vote a straight ticket for any party in North Carolina, then you must still indicate your choice for president on your ballot. In other words, don't check the box for "straight ticket" and expect that your vote for president has been cast.

I think that they should do away with the straight party ticket option. It's a completely obtuse idea to blindly vote like that anyway

I definitely agree, but until/unless they do, people will continue to think that they can just do that and not indicate their preference for president. It does say on the ballot that you must vote for president, but people all too often don't read the instructions.
