On behalf of gamers, gaming enthusiasts, and members of the male gender i would like to formally and completely apologize for what you just witnessed. It was unnessesary and inappropriate and i take full resonsablity.

Add me to the list of those embarassed by the 'hooting Neanderthal' branch of the Y Chromosome.
Women! These men do not represent us! Their actions are their own responsability, and they should be tied to the nearest Barbie aisle in a toy store.
We ask that you please please PLEASE do not get drunk in their presence, as it's the only way they can reproduce, and that you never hope that you can 'change' them.
This sort of thing happens all too often, unfortunately. Totally uncalled for.
I will say that in my own personal experience, the gamers didn't pull this sort of crap nearly as much as the non-gamers did in the same age group. Still doesn't excuse the behavior coming from *anyone*.
One point of personal confusion -- "free sandwiches"?
Agreed. I've worked tourneys at cons before, and if anyone - *ANYONE* - pulled that my response would be:
"Right. You. Out. We don't tolerate that sort of behavior." "What..? But I'm winning!" "You're too busy acting like a caveman to win. At anything." "You can't make me leave!" "Actually, I can. And if I have to call Security, they WILL pull your badge."
Thankfully, I've never had to boot anyone out of a tourney, though I *did* have to share a room with someone who was debadged as the result of alcohol-enhanced lechery. Zero sympathy, especially when he announced he was refusing to pay his share.
Speaking as a male who has brothers like this ... I'm a nice guy, I'm the guy at the door who's warning you & apologizing with his foot in his mouth. I never even started beating my wife. I don't act this way & I'm on your side against those who do.
There are times that I wish that I could just ka-transgender some of those jerks for an hour or so.
Didn't he say "foot in mouth"?capplorSeptember 15 2011, 00:16:30 UTC
Trust me, that's not the highest praise I could give him. (-- the wife, really. It's not my fault he never makes his own account. This one is officially MINE and he borrows it. I borrow his Facebook.)

Actually, I'm surprised he said he didn't _start_ doing it, it would seem to imply that he will at some point... "foot in mouth" indeed. (And yes, I know the regular capplor is female - I've read your posts before)

Though to be honest? That girl probably could own and headshot every single one of those tween-mentality posers in the games.
