these tales of your nursing prof have me so profoundly disturbed....

that's just SOO FUCKeD. i would lose my shit. i don't know what i would do. she's got you over a barrel if you're beholden to her for a mark.

i also just realized i assumed the prof was a woman...? but clearly we've come far enough that a man couldn't publicly say such stuff to impressionable minds..?

she is a woman. and a card-carrying, election-candidate conservative, to boot.

she's pretty subtle with her more heinous comments - managing to slip them into the more relevant aspects of her lectures. being slow that way, it's usually well after the fact when i shake my head and think, "did she actually just say that?!?" curse my slow farmer ways.

I remember starting nursing school and realizing that I wasn't in Kansas anymore.

Check out the radical medicine community to hear about other folks experience working in the field of western medicine. It isn't a really active lj community, but at least you get the sense that you aren't alone.

It is important to find other folks with a medical background who are also radical to talk to, or at least it was for me. I would not have made it through without the docs and nurses who are also active and political to talk to.
