it's a lot greener than I thought. Is this northern alberta?

it's an area north of whitecourt, which would best be classified as west-central alberta (my 'hood). the satellite image was most likely taken at the height of summer, with only the most recent cutblocks being brownish.

it's funny how they (i.e. the government/logging companies/oil companies) try to pass this type of activity off as 'sustainable'.
