Linux Containers (lxc)
I've recently been playing around with lxc, and it seems like there have been some really great improvements to lightweight virtualization since I was last using it. I just set up NTP and Squid in their own separate containers that are taking less than 3MB of disk space each (not counting the actual cache storage for Squid, just the container). ( Read more... ) -
Google Chrome is my new buddy
So today I started my Google Chrome, and sadly all my tabs had been closed! I tend to keep a lot of tabs open for things I want to go back to, and I this sort of thing is something that used to happen regularly in Firefox. Google over IPv6 on Comcast?
I noticed last night that my Google home page wasn't displaying correctly, and after poking around a minute I realized that the router had somehow dropped my 6to4 default route in the last few days. IOW Google had switched over their main servers to IPv6 for Comcast! I reset the route and it looks like my traffic is now going over IPv6. I also ( Read more... ) -

I had a pretty good day today. I slept in a bit, did a smidgen of workish stuff, and a bit of shopping. Then it was off to buzz's birthday party. Hmm, so there's a Gaelic Storm concert tomorrow at the PA Renn Faire, which I only recently found out about. I like Gaelic Storm, but its at 5pm on a Friday, which makes me feel like it will be tough to get there unless I leave work awfully early... Today is the last day to register as a democrat if you want to vote in the Democrat primary. Just give your local voter registration office and/or elections bureau (see the blue pages of the phone book) a call and they should be able to tell you where they are located so that you can get the forms and turn them in there.
