Yeah, we have bad nasal passages in my family, I guess we should've warned you about the snoring. My dad is actually the worst, I could sometimes hear him when I lived in Brent's old room downstairs. What type of phone do you have? A white noise app might help. I'm not sure if you can buy the ear buds they made for the iPhone 5, but they are crazy comfy. I have fallen asleep with them before and I usually get sore ears after half an hour with regular buds. But yeah, white noise is what helped me when Maddie was sleeping next to out bed. She was so gasp-y and grungy the first few months, and every little sound would jolt me awake. I ended up getting a machine that play the sounds of waves crashing on the beach and it helps me tune other stuff out. It even helped some when our neighbors had construction crews up at 7 am for days at a time.

I hope life otherwise quiets down some for you. Hang in there. ::hug::

I've actually been using the white noise app religiously ever since I discovered it. It helps but does not fix the problem. I have always had trouble falling asleep. It takes me an hour or over an hour and its hard to make someone who is asleep in3 min understand that. In college I would fall asleep with earplugs or headphones on and it gave me a horrible ear infection; not eager to repeat that. I feel like I'm fucked in this scenario bec I can't just get used to it like everyone says they are able to.

I feel ya, I have a terrible time falling asleep too, and Russ is usually out within minutes. And he wakes up perky, while it takes me about an hour to kick that feeling that I've been hit by a truck every morning. I've managed to get my time to fall asleep down to 20-30 mins most nights, but it takes medication and a fairly elaborate winding down ritual to do it. If I have a reason I have to get up the next morning it's even worse. I can go into more detail if you want, but I don't want to seem like I'm hounding you if you really just want to vent.

Except that not everyone *is* able to get used to it. Jeff's snoring is why we sleep in separate rooms.

When I lived in Berkeley, my next-door neighbor heard him through the walls of the duplex and wondered whether something was seriously wrong with our plumbing. I am not kidding.

Not to totally tack on a "Me too!" to your post here, but I felt the same way when planning my wedding. I think most brides do. It's probably natural. It doesn't suck less, but it's OKAY ( ... )
