'...you say you want to know her like a lover and undo her damage, she'll be new again...'

Real life: Class is frequently irrelevant, but worse, we often stray into huge debates about issues that irk me immensely. The other day, one of the women goes, ‘My daughter’s friends had the shortest skirts, they were barely covered…’

cut for discussion of sexual assault and people being judgmental, grr )

"For my will is as strong as yours and my kingdom as great."
Is that by chance what you were quoting? :D

And those women in your class need to be shot. Repeatedly. I am 27 years old, married and I do not wish to have children. I also did not start looking for a 'mate' as soon as I became a teenager. I certainly didn't dress in very reviling clothing.

*squees* Yes, indeed! I love when people get my references, hee! *twirls you round* Especially since I paraphrased, jeez, how good are you?!

On the downside, I should not be seeing shippy undertones between Morgana and Merlin. BAD, SELF, VERY BAD. (is it weird that if they'd started off the series as enemies, I'd ship it, but not the way they were written? *facepalm*)

The funny thing was that the few guys there were in the class didn't say anything. I think they were too worried about how it'd appear, lol. But gosh, women can be the worst when it comes to other women. >:[

DOING IT WRONG, APPARENTLY. *eyeroll* I can't get over how people think it's 'selfish' not to have kids, oh, there must be something wrong with you! Look, I'm not going on an anti-reproduction kick here, I'm happy for those who do want children and are happy with them, but it's the judgmental attitude that you're a disgrace to your sex if you don't have them that gets my goat. I've had to deal with ( ... )

I don't understand the Elizabeth hate. I really really don't.

Because she...doesn't prance around in revealing clothing? IDEK. Carter has tons of fans and she wears the uniform, so it can't just be that Elizabeth doesn't show off her midriff. I guess...her being a civilian pacifist leader is what got people?

The annoying thing is when I listened to the audio commentaries and TPTB patted themselves on the back for being progressive and innovative with her character- they wanted someone different, a woman who was a civilian who didn't go for the military solution every time. And then they undermined her at every turn, ridiculed her beliefs and ignored her because it was too hard to incorporate her into the show. UGH.

Elizabeth: cooler than she was written. *nodnod*

OMG I CANNOT BELIEVE THOSE PEOPLE IN YOUR CLASS. I can't believe how now people tell females "don't get raped" instead of teaching everyone "don't rape." ugh THE ANGER.

CURSES. I now see Bella in a different light. I'm like you - she is still a Mary Sue and the writing of the series itself sucks major, but UGH. Bella >_>

CURSES 2.0! The video doesn't like my phone :| I will watch this tomorrow on my laptop at school! (and ha, I haven't had much progress on said fics since we last talked about it lmao).

IFKR? I cannot believe the victim-blaming going on here. It's not enough women are assaulted in such a degrading way, they're supposed to feel like they're responsible for it.

YOUR ICOOOON. *cries with it*

Gah, this is the first Merlin post I've made in a while because it's just turned into a black hole that's sucked in and destroyed all the glee and squeeful flailyness I ever used to feel about it. >_<

But you know what, I've been wibbling over its loss of awesome for so long and now, I'm going to try something new.

Those people seriously need to be re-educated if they thinks what you wear means it's your fault if you get raped. This subject gives me rage because quite a few people are not on the rapists should keep their rapey hands to themselves page, but instead they are on the IT'S YOU'RE FAULT IT HAPPENED BECAUSE OF THIS THIS AND THAT! page. No it is not, the only person at fault is the rapist but most of these people are like BOYS WILL BE BOYS about it.

I know they say you're supposed to respect your elders, but ha, no frakking way. It's disgraceful people still think that kind of crap these days, just seriously appalling. I'm not gonna say I hate these people, you can have different values and still get along, but I'm seriously side-eying Wilma and a couple others now.

I KNOW. How does it rarely come down to them?! And even when people do acknowledge that it's their fault, they STILL go on about how women ought to put restrictions on themselves because they're placing themselves in a situation where they could be assaulted, like it should be their burden to try to NOT be raped. O.o I can't even.
