I actually really enjoyed The Secret Circle. I was rather wary, having heard less than flattering reviews of it- worse than Twilight? Say it ain’t so! Thankfully, for me, personally, it not only exceeded those low standards but was quite entertaining. ^_^

I only read about halfwy through your stuff on Secret Circle (I'll come back to it later when I have time). I do want to point out though, that this show is based on a book series, so a lot of the storylines are taken from the series. I actually just finished reading it (because I wanted to read it before getting into the show). While I liked the pilot episode, I am not sure I can say how much. I feel like they sorta gave too much away in an episode. But, I'll get back to that later. Gotta get back to work for now!

That’s cool, I know the feeling. I love reading people’s thoughts on tv shows and then I’m like ‘SO MUCH TO DISCUSS, BUT NO TIME’.

I vaguely knew that this was based on a book series…? Or…well, I think it’s being filmed by the same people who do Vampire Diaries, but I don’t know if the books were also written by the TVD writer.

I actually just finished reading it (because I wanted to read it before getting into the show).

Ooh, I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on how they managed the adaptation, whether in reference to my post or in one of your own. It’s always fascinating to see what people make of adaptations- IDK, I’m kinda addicted to that. I had a ball with reading people’s posts on Game of Thrones book vs tv.

I feel like they sorta gave too much away in an episodeReally? Like what? *hypnotic eyes* TELL MEEEEE. I, for one, am completely baffled as to where this is gonna go. If there is blatant foreshadowing, it ( ... )

I don't really want to get into too much about the book series (because I don't want to spoil you for anything in the show) unless you want me too.

I can say that the *Evil Faye* aspect was much better portayed in the book series. The way Cassie was introduced to the circle (which is in fact 12 people -Cassie being the 13th- not 6) was much better. And Cassie and Adam met way before Cassie knew of the circle (or even moved to the town) in the books. Adam and Cassie's story is so much more believable (and interesting) in the books. And Cassie's mother... Well, I won't get into any more. I really don't want to spoil things if you don't want me too.

I did really enjoy the second episode, so I think I will stick with the show for a bit. Even if it is far off (in ways) from the books.

I am all good for spoilers if you wanna lay 'em on me. I love hearing about differences/comparisons and such, so yeah, feel free.

Ohhhh, yeah, the books do sound like they do a much better job with the characters/relationships, esp. relating to Adam/Cassie. *facepalm* Way to fumble the translation of that, show!

IS CASSIE'S MOTHER EVIL? SECRETLY ALIVE OR RESURRECTED? TELL MEEEEEE.

I wonder if book fans in general rate the show lower? It might be an advantage to me that I haven't read them, lol. I might wait til the end of the season to read them- not for fear of spoilers, for I love them, but if the books handle it all a lot better, I don't wanna get disillusioned with the show!

Although from ontd_tsc, most people were unimpressed with the second ep, so it's interesting you liked it!

I never liked the twins, but I do like that fanart. Very cool!

Do you agree that's your kinda guy or...? (well, obv not a DEAD guy, but like their personalities? *side-eyes quiz for suggesting they're the same person*)

I would def go for the stack of cash, hehe.

Aww! What about the premise turned you off? The witches circle thing? Tell me so I can allay your fears and convince you to watch! Er. *shifty eyes* I'm just curious, no ulterior motives... :P

I love your use of 'egregious'. I've heard of it but never looked to see what it meant, so that's neat. *adds to vocab*

It's a shame you don't have icons for them, but hey, it's 'coz of all the awesome ladies and ships you've got! You can't cover all the bases at once...

*pets* I'm sorry, bb, yeah, the embittering is def a disincentive.

(I'm the opposite, I'm not that fussed about John Connor, it's Sarah, Cameron and the female cyborg redheady lady played by the Garbage chick and even Savannah I was more interested in. I WANTED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED NEXT WITH THEM, AUGH)

To save the world, I shall discontinue any attempts to get you to watch. *nods fervently* And also because I've stewed for years over stupid network decisions and I don't wanna fan the flames of your discontent. *squish*

I dislike Cassie to an extent and I have no idea why- I think I'm just going to find her incredibly annoying during the duration of the show. I lovee Faye, she's the main reason I think I'll keep watching the show. But then I'm a Phoebe Tonkin fan from H2O & Tomorrow, When the War Began (fantastic film, I recommend it). I found the whole spell aspect super cringe worthy anyways tbh, I just couldn't help thinking of when I was little and tried to do spells because I was convinced there must be something extraordinary about me and I just don't like the way there's nothing more to it then standing there.

My husband was Sirius Black, which I've started to agree with after learning he's a Gemini.

Aww, me sad. But I have a feeling people are gonna find her Mary Sue-ish, so I was prepared for that. I just like that she seems to have her head screwed on right, she didn’t instantly jump at joining the witchy kids and LOL, the way she ran outta there, I really loved that. And her NOT kissing Adamn (I keep misspelling his name that way! I think it’s appropriate), THANK YOU, WRITERS.

I lovee Faye, she's the main reason I think I'll keep watching the show. But then I'm a Phoebe Tonkin fan from H2O & Tomorrow, When the War Began HOW IS IT YOU WATCH SO MUCH AUSTRALIAN STUFF? I am thoroughly ashamed of myself next to you! I shall have to remedy this ( ... )

I warmed up to her in the second episode~ she seemed less annoying, but that little thing growing with her and Adam seems so manufactured. Even Adam's relationship with that other girl seems paper thin to me, idk what it is but he just isn't having much chemistry with anyone for me. (Except Faye, but that's more Faye being sex on legs than him, I think. I legit ship her with every single person on the show ( ... )

EEEE. The Secret Circle. So far, so good. I am hoping it doesn't get even cheesier, because then idk if I'd be able to watch it. :P But wow. Yeah, LJ Smith was an author I used to read a lot as a pre-teen, and seeing TSC on-screen reminded me so much of my pre-teen days. And UNF. GALE HAROLD. <3 Here's hoping this show doesn't get cancelled. Poor guy. Ever since QaF stopped airing, everything he's been in has been canned. D: D: D:

My main issue with the romance in TSC is everything that you've mentioned, but also the whole "it's written in the stars" thing. I don't like being told who I am supposed to 'ship'. Tbqh, I'm not a huge fan of 'John Connor' (idk his name, lol) as yet, so I haven't decided if I want him for her (the fact that he'd be willing to cheat on his gf - the almost kiss - has put me off him ( ... )

I HAVE A HIGH THRESHOLD FOR CHEESE, I CAN TAKE IT. :P

Wow, this guy came with a ready made fanbase! I can't believe the number of squee posts over him and fanart and such out there after one ep! What was he famous for? QaF? *confuzzled*

But I'm happy that a guy you love has got a new show! Seconding the 'PLEASE DON'T CANCEL' prayer.

also the whole "it's written in the stars" thing. I don't like being told who I am supposed to 'ship'.

THIIIIS. I find I go for ships that aren't promoted on purpose. It gives them more of a chance to evolve naturally, it doesn't feel forced or contrived. If I ship them, there's often chemistry or some dynamic that makes a potential relationship fascinating, as opposed to 'yeah, they're destined, so you should ship them. No other reason.' * ( ... )

Oh God. Yes. Only for being the hottest bastard to ever grace the screen. Seriously. He was just... so cool, so detatched, but he had a heart of gold beneath it all, and he was just so broody and desireable and... UNF. I have never wished so hard in my life that I was a gay male as when I watched QaF. <3

(OMG I JUST GOT SIDETRACKED WATCHING ALL OF THESE BRIAN KINNEY VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE. UNF. <3)

^^ Just a little video to introduce you to his character. But I warn you! Don't watch it if you ever plan on watching the TV show. It has spoilers in it for all five seasons of the show (particularly the fifth and final season). Also, uh, warning for sex scenes and nudity. NSWF! BRB. CRYING MY EYES OUT.

I will honestly end up shipping Cassie with... idk, Jon Connor-kid's dad? Gale Harold's character? Someone other than John Connor-kid himself. D:

I had to skim this entry for fear of spoilers. I watched Life Unexpected with the main character who is in this show and I can't imagine liking this new character because I didn't like the old one for this actress. I hope that I'm wrong!

Oops, yeah, the whole thing was pretty much spoilers. Hence the cut! I usually don't watch new shows at the same time as everyone else (I'm the last person to watch most things, lol) so I was super careful about doing a cut to avoid causing trouble.

And ack, I'm sorry you didn't like the main actress in Life Unexpected. I haven't seen that, so while I really liked her in this, I can't really say 'yeah, she's a lot better' or 'bleurgh, she's just as horrible'. Maybe if you get time or not too much other tv on your plate, give it a go and see if she's any more to your taste here?

(I have occasionally had the experience of loathing someone on one show and then finding them really amazing in another show and totally changing my opinion of them...although that might've been more 'coz of the character they played than the actress. HMM)
