A lot of times, I qualify statements with ‘this is so embarrassing, but…’ or ‘I’m kinda ashamed to say this’.But really? I don’t have to do that! I don’t need to justify my tastes, no matter how much I feel like I do. I’m sure most of you guys don’t judge me incessantly, or if you do side-eye me on something, well, it’s not the end of the world. We

I'm not a fan of Twilight, and the fic started as a parody and, as usual, ran away with me and became a legitimate story... READ IT! (though it's not finished)

I am... *checks* at chapter 13. I got up to the part where she says she loves him and they make out and then I crack up laughing at the part where he works out they could've been kissing months ago and she's mentally kicking herself for not asking whether it was safe, lolol.
I just...I had such a huge groundswell of emotion, I didn't realize how invested I was in their relationship til I squeed and heart!sploded over this and now...now I'm kind of scared to keep reading because IDK if they'll end up together in the end or not! *quivers* WHY DO I CARE SO MUCH, OH, MY HEART.
I looooooove Bella as a proactive protagonist who takes an active interest in the direction of her life! THIS. COMPLETELY. None of this sitting by a window for months on end to Lykke Li's heartbroken wailing for Bella from Luminosity, I'm sure. I cannot get over how much I adore the fact that she has ( ... )

Oh goodness, I was ridiculously invested in them from day one as well! I went into the fic like, "oh I wonder if she would end up with someone else that would be interesting!", but the way that Bella and Edward are written in this context-- with her actively imposing her own values on his behavior and enforcing her boundaries, with Edward needing her as much as he does, I was totally sold.
And don't worry, Bella/Edward is Luminosity/Radiance endgame otp.
How frakking AWESOME was she when she got kidnapped? I loved how that turned out! I mean, I thought her decisions meant that she wouldn't get kidnapped at all, but I loved how it happened here SO MUCH as I kept reading. UGH UGH UGH YES. That was pretty much what I was thinking about ( ... )

I hate when people say teenagers cant be mature, and speak well, be self-aware, or make rational decisions. All teenagers are not the same and I know often in my Thicker than Water series people say the teenagers should be more like teenagers. I dont know about them but I was pretty much just like the characters when I was their age and I didnt grow up on a creek with a kid named Dawson. I find the whole thing insulting to the point of rage.

It's a very popular belief and it upsets me. It's like people are saying the only worthwhile teenage protagonists are idiotic, selfish, thoughtless douches and that if you write them with intelligence and redeeming qualities, then the author's doing it wrong. We should all be like characters from Harry Potter and bully and torment people and let our feelings cause us to hurt others, physically and emotionally, that's the only valid way to write a teenager. UGH.
I know often in my Thicker than Water series people say the teenagers should be more like teenagersWas that the one...no, no, I think the one I read was from ages ago, The Grove or something? I really liked the way they were written there, you could see their canon personalities in them. I don't believe adults spring into existence fully grown, there are often elements of the person they'll grow to be in the teenager. But ( ... )

Yeah, you're probably talking about The Grove. Thicker than Water is a lot different and I think I stick even more to the Canon characters in young adult form. Check out this story if you get a chance and let me know. The whole BAU team is in it, including Seaver. A lot of the teen stories in the CM fandom, or even the kid stories, turn me off a bit. Its a fine line to walk, in any event, and the writer's experiences will color it as well. But I dont find very much interesting about reading (or writing for that matter) a bunch of immature, mean, silly characters at any age.

Ugh, yeah, while I think a bookstore gig would be great, the exposure to Twilight is unfortunate. >_< I think the reason they're so popular is because Bella's so weakly written that she has no real personality and whoever's reading the book can insert themselves in her place and vicariously experience her popularity and LOVE OF THE AGES and so on. She is the definition of a Mary Sue, it aggravates me so much to see her as this huge cash-cow, so undeservedly. >:[
