Well, it's Chinese New Year today (Year of the Dog I think), so Derek and I went into town, watched some celebrations in Trafalgar Square and then had a nice meal in Chinatown itself. Only problem was it is flipping freezing at the moment ( Read more... )

Not long to go now - I finish in just over a week (though not clear when I will be arriving back yet - the 6th or the 8th December).

Finally made it back into the UK yesterday morning (a day late and after much faffing about). And then I fly back on Thursday!

Watched Revenge of the Sith last night, which is quite good, but becomes even more enjoyable when you're drinking lots of whiskey.

Rather knackered now...

Hello to a new month I guess. Made it past 30 days with little fuss. Now I just hope that the second month flies by as quickly. Had a half day today, dozed a bit and caught some sun (though I'm beginning to think that Factor 30 may have been a tad excessive!).

A rather nice sandstorm meant that everything was turned a nice shade of ochre today and visibility was probably 50 to 70 metres.

Well, it's 45 degrees here ("cool" apparently) and I was sick yesterday. Best to get it out of the way early though?

Ok now, though, just trying to avoid bursting into flames (thank goodness for air conditioning).
