so i just saw that video of the crazy woman two days ago and it really made me feel sick. my friend tim showed it to me and said, do you see why i dont believe in God? and how can you say, only a very few people actually believe what this woman is saying? i mean, she gets to be on the news, and at protests. shes the face that people see. its disgusting.
It's true it doesn't make sense--and this is why I don't agree with protesting--especially from Christians. Look at the message it sends-not Christ's love but hate and anger.
Aside from peaceful protests--those that you can barely tell are going on, but send a message just the same, protests don't promote peace. They promote rebellion and conflict. It's one thing to not shop at a store because it supports something you don't. It's another thing to actively take action to stop that. As I've mentioned before, when Jesus was alive, Peter took action to try and stop/protest against what the Chief priests were about to do to Jesus. Jesus immediately corrected Him. Protests don't solve any problems--they just cause more noise and less piece. I'm sure you'll think of Jesus clearing out the temple. The difference there is that Jesus was the authority. We citizens can have opinions and can pray fervently. But aside from that the Lord calls us to submit to the government--"Give Caesar what is due Caesar..." Hold your opinion, but pray for peace don't shout for it. Be a testimony by your actions and prayers, not by how high you hold your sign.
Let me just add one thing. It's not that I don't agree that if something is unlawful we shouldn't appeal--Paul did this. It's more I don't agree with breaking the peace to create it. I think that if we appeal or protest, we have to have the right motivation and heart. We need to appeal out of submission to God--the ultimate authority--not out of out personal feelings or reactions. Great things have come out of appropriate protests--like the Civil Rights Movement. I just think we have to have the right heart and motive. Not one that desires to get one's point across, but one that is submit to the Lord and responding to something He stands against. Not just something we feel is wrong. Something we are convicted about and sense the Lord is protesting. Make it God centered not just us and our opinions.
oh hey, i made and recorded a song after seeing this and feeling unmistakable feelings of anger and unpleasantness. its on purevolume, you can check it out if you want. www.purevolume.com/praedabundus. song's called "the relative truth", and if you listen you'll know what it's saying.
I saw this the other day...I couldn't watch the whole thing. it makes me angry on so many different levels. and, it breaks my heart to say it, but no wonder people hate christians when they see people like that... -hannah l.
Some people make me sick. I really could care less if you don't agree with something. But it's when people go out of their way to ruin some one elses day with their message. Christ loves spreads through love. This lady is going about things, completely and utterly, the wrong way. Showing hatred for the soldiers who have technically done no wrong is about as far from Christ as I can think. As for the homosexual debate... I can't think of a worse way to show why it's wrong. This radical is disrupting another families grieving moments to push her views on issues that only halfway pertain to the situation
