Finally!

Jul 31, 2005 11:03

Well, it finally happened. I moved to Montreal. I sent my application to Ontario just about one year ago, and I finally received my visa about two weeks ago. I loaded my brother's truck up and hit the road on Thursday. Spent the night with my cousin in Burlington VT with my hubby Patch and then my brother and his wife and my niece arrived Friday ( Read more... )

Indeed welcome!

(Well, welcome in an abstract sort of way, not being there anymore myself)

To help you get comfortable I would like to give you two handy little equations.

Celsius = (Fahrenheit - 32) / 1.8

litre = fluid gallon*(3.785 411 784)

Thus your post becomes:

...Just loading the fucking thing in 38 degree heat was enough to get me to down about 7.5 litres of cold water over a two hr period.

This is mostly for my own benefit, I recognize those other measurements as somethign that peopld use, but I see them so rarely I had to look up the above equations to make sure I had them right.

Hopefully they`ll help you `assimulate`. (^-^)

I have to admit, it is going to be terribly odd getting used to many new systems, not just measurements! However, being just dyslexic enough to make it horribly inconvenient, how DOES one divide by 1.8 sans calculator? LOL I wonder if I'll ever get used to hearing on the radio up here "It's going to be a lovely day at 24degrees C" - I brought an extra winter coat and ice pick to make my winter igloo. 20 degrees to me used to mean ' time to put the motorcycle away for the winter '

As for the twin renting out my old place - don't forget, MA law is always in the tenant's favor - (favour) - so I'd suggest sticking with the reliable old tenant, even if he's only there now and then. Never forget my inside connection to the Harvey's - the nectar of not the Gods, but perhaps their sanitation specialists. If it took a thousand years, your "systems" could never be cleaned enough, have some more koogle.

HEY - if ya get a Schnoodle, you can name it Koogle!
(ayep, time for bed)

To divide by 1.8:

1.8 = 9/5

Thus multiply by 9 then divide by five.

And if dividing by 5 is too tough, Multiply by 9, then multiply by 2, then divide by 10. That`s how I would do it anyway.

In the words of Steve Harvey the comedian .... heeeere's my sign (thought I'd say it before Halibutosis did)

By the way Halibutosis, after jumping off the dock and damaging your pride, I want you to know SOME good did come out of that experience:

First - you learned to give up control of the boat at least 1% of the time
Second - I am now a better wheelchair operator
Three - who knew people in the ER had such lousy senses of humor (humour), I mean just cuz THEYYY were yacking doesn't mean all of us had to lose out on the fun.

Kicking your ass all the way nord to Montreal was about all my ankle could take. Anyway, I KNOW you'll be back soon because you left a $20 bill on your night stand.

BTW - Max is asking for you...
