Oh yessssss ... I just read this whole thing in one go, and it is exquisite! I love that the focus lies on the psychological and exploratory rather than on gratification. That makes it so much more about the journey than about the destination.
I do also adore your character development in this. I like the parity of their respective thought processes, and the relative similarity in their self awareness. Such as the fact that they can both 'self-diagnose,' as it were, though with greater blockades and limitations (which is quite normal and natural, of course, though I do think some people suppress even that, and avoid thinking about why something makes them tick a certain way
( ... )
Thank you for a lovely (and insightful)comment. Yes, the focus is very much on the journey(s) rather than the destination. I just wanted to explore how two people, damaged in different ways, could come together and find contentment. Still a long way to go, yet, though.
Hello, have been wondering about this for ages and have just read the whole lot in one go - perfect as you've performed an elegant little circle in time.
This is so well written! I found the concept of a dominant Hermione much easier to swallow than that of a sub Severus, because he's spent most of his life having virtually no control over his actions. I've read that it is the men in positions of power who crave a subservient role and he strikes me as somebody who bitterly resents his powerlessness. However, you've written a cleverly convincing set up that I haven't seen before and the idea of Snape becoming familiar with himself and experiencing a sense of freedom is particularly canny.
I can't help feeling that Hermione's desire for control and revenge(?) is less healthy than Severus' willingness to explore voluntarily ceding control to another person once more. Perhaps Snape has more to teach Hermione than vice versa ...
Thank goodness we are back to the opening chapter again. I read it again just to ease the suspense. I do hope Snape stops teaching. I don’t like to think of him as miserable and he certainly is at Hogwarts. Can he set himself up as freelance potions maker? He has made comments that make me think he could afford it? I find it comforting that Harry knows the truth about Hermione’s life. Even if he cannot accept the choices, there is someone she can be honest with.
Thank you for the recent update. I want you to continue with Needs and I crave another chapter of Epiphany. I am such a demanding fangirl!!
No, it isn't. I decided not to post this at an archive until it's finished as it's subject to editing. I may even make it DH compliant - I haven't decided yet.

It's certainly true that Severus has a lot to teach Hermione as well as vice-versa :)

You are a demanding one aren't you? I shall be getting back to Epiphany once I've caught up on my beta-ing.

Is Needs posted anywhere else besides the bottom Snape community?
