Well, I've decided that Danny is about nine weeks along which means in this case that the fetus is only 0.9 inches large. Since the sac thing that Danny has is different in appearance from a uterus and they weren't expecting anything of the sort, they just didn't recognize it. Like one of those paintings that consists of fruits but forms a face. You can look at it for a while before realizing what you're looking at. So it's not necessarily crappy images, but more the doctors failing to recognize the obvious ( ... )

I've been having a lot of fun googling medical terms XD
I just hope people won't get sick of the medi-babble, because there's going to be lots more. Hormones are up next I think.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I can promise that I won't. I've spent hours reading articles on wikipedia for a constantly expanding AU involving a medically plausible sentient zombie minority, so, er, if there's one thing I can appreciate it's research. XD
