this is dumb to ask, but is there any chance it is in a dresser drawer? i don't even know why i am asking this.

i dont think so - i checked dresser drawers, but i also dont really use dressers that often. i had my clothes in folded piles on the floor. never found it, but oh well. and its not stupid - usually this stuff turns up in exactly the easy places to look.
