Thanks for letting me know, I'm never sure if people are interested in my posts so your comment is much appreciated.
Also, I've always wondered, do people just stop on the side of the road and walk in to the fields and take a few ears for dinner on the way home? I mean they're so fresh, and I know it's wrong, but it seems like it would be so easy and would cause minimal harm to a farmers profits.
actually, most of the corn you see is feed corn instead of sweet corn. i'm sure people steal sweet corn when they can find it, but usually the farmer plants it towards the middle of the field, or in a barbed-off area to prevent that.
it's so cheap at the farmstands on the side of the road though! i think once i paid 1.00 for 6 ears.
i second the comment on happiness from your posting of pictures -- keeps me pumped up about coming back home and going camping and hiking. how's the job?

in illinois, you can measure the summer by the height of the corn. it starts as little sprouts and when summer is over, it is high above our head!

I dunno, like forty or fifty bucks, they go all the way up into the hundreds, but unless you're a hardcore racer, that's total overkill.
