As an invitee I felt privileged to witness "Battles" perform last night, and I don't feel weird about calling it a performance, at times it was definitely more than just a band 'playing.' Some of the vocals a little distracting, but I think we agreed the musicianship was top notch ( Read more... )

I love your ooohhh at the end too. I think that's what really makes it, you're not let down at all, actually rather delighted.

man that looked fucking awesome. where was I when that happened? plus, I like how this is pretty much just a stupid normal video of people with dominos, except everyone has a mustache.
I'm pretty jealous that you got to see BATTLES. I WOULD be seeing them tomorrow in s.f. but I've been quite under the weather of recent.
have you heard the tonto ep, with remixes by the field and four tet? anyways, the four tet remix is one of the most fabulous things I've ever heard.

yeah, heard about the sickliness, sucks man. I haven't heard the tonto ep, but I would like to, especially after a rave review from you, sets the bar pretty high... now I can't help but being let down since i'm pretty much expecting a "losing my edge' type freshness mixed with Hendrix on a jazz tip... if i'm not let down, that would be a bad thing too since I'd pretty much be out of commission due to my mind being completely blown.

btw, I love how we all use so overuse that "mind is blown" phrase, it makes me laugh so hard it blows my mind.
