sonic youth was absolutely wonderful last night. there were quite a few songs they didnt play that i really wanted to hear live, but after all when you have a catalog of over 100 songs, im sure its hard to please everyone. the most amazing thing though was to see how real a band like sonic youth could be. they have accomplished more than many ( Read more... )

besides doing my progress report stuff (which gives me about one maybe two shows a month) im going to be the new keyboardist for [daryl] so be prepared to line me up a wichita falls show :) cause i want to come home!

that's great that live is about to get twenty times better.

You didn't go to The Walkmen show on monday did you? They were playing with The French Kicks. I wanted to go, but I was in San Diego.

And, Sonic Youth is one of the greatest post-underground bands. I remember when they were touring with Fugazi, and they didn't charge more than $3 a show and they played in peoples' basements.

no, i didnt get to go to walkmen, fk show...i think i had to work that night.

and dude, sonic youth was great. they needed to play an extra hour (1.5 hours wasnt long enough) cause there were so many songs they left out of their set that i really wanted to hear. but they were great. despite the 22.00 ticket price (at least i had the hookup and didnt have to pay!!), but 3 dollars in a basement with fugazi (even though impossible now) wouldve been the best in the entire world...
