I have just returned from a fantastic trip to Buigiri. £3010 was raised through the generosity of many friends and the children of Our Lady Queen of Heaven school and Ampleforth College. It is good to be back doing one of these! I have tracked previous days for other LJ communities - most of my days were from Tanzania. I apologise that my UK life is slightly more mundane!
This day started in London visiting my sister, and ended up back at home in Bristol

One of the things I do in Tanzania is to help visually impaired Muslim children enter education. The only blind school in the region is Christian, and that can obviously deter parents. A Muslim teacher from the school visits the families, often up to 6 hours away, to answer questions and assuage their fears. My task is to get the funding in place. ( Read more... ) -

I ran a half marathon yesterday. I am still a little in shock that I managed it. It only seems like the other day that I was struggling to run a for a minute. A friend told me that when he first met me I'd lose my breath eating a pie, and now I have a huge shiny half marathon medal hanging in my bedroom ( Read more... ) -
