Last year as I was walking off the green after my last round of golf for the season, I tossed my golf ball in the air and attempted to hit it out of the air with my putter.

Here's a tip for all you the aspiring PR professionals reading this blog:

Don't pitch a company that is ceasing operations.

Chances are good the reporter does not want to write about a company saving thousands of dollars, if that same company is also closing its doors due to rising gas prices.

Call me crazy.

As far as investments go, my investment in a 27-game season ticket package for the Detroit Tigers is looking bad.

I am practically beside myself with frustration; it feels like the season has ended before it even started.

It's the worst brand of baseball I've seen at Comerica Park since 2003.

How is this possible?

Isn't sea ice disappearing faster than Kwame Kilpatrick's supporters.  (Whoops.  Bad example.)

Seriously.  How is this possible? 

Whoever thought it would be a good idea to schedule the Tigers' Opening Day in March should be forced to sit in the stands on Monday and endure whatever crazy weather Mother Nature throws at us.

The last two years have been sunny and in the 50's.

There is no freaking way we get lucky three years in a row.

More and more online versions of newspapers and magazines are ditching the tired "pay for play" model and putting most, if not all, of their archives on their sites for free.

Sports Illustrated has scanned every single issue since 1954 -- old cigarette ads and all -- to their site for free reading.

In 1968 James R. Berry postulated in Mechanix Illustrated magazine what life would be like in the year 2008.

Well, here we are, forty years later, and I'm still waiting for those four hour workdays Mr. Berry predicted.  In fact, our world is not much different from the world of 1968.
