Sorry about all the crappiness, holmes, esp. the mosquitos and car burglary. I've never really been to Texas, only driven through El Paso and the Fort Worth/Dallas area on the way to Tennessee. Hope it gets better soon and if it doesn't, hope you get out of there faster.
The funny thing is ... I was looking at a conversation of ours the other day...
Koemiko [10:28 PM]: I'm pointing out that it isn't funny how well you read people. Bradorsomething [10:30 PM]: know yourself and you know others fairly well. Bradorsomething [10:31 PM]: it's fun at times... really sad a lot of the time too, though. Koemiko [10:31 PM]: Why? Bradorsomething [10:32 PM]: ever felt sad at seeing an animal in a cage? Bradorsomething [10:33 PM]: imagine if the animal made the cage themselves, hated it... and you know they'd hate you if you tried to help them out of it.
Bust that cage open, dear. And good luck doing it.
Yeah, well I kinda know what I'm doing, it's just that I'm using dodgey math in a universe that likes to change the roll of the dice every so often "just to mix it up." I refuse to say I know *exactly* what I'm doing... how about I knew what I was getting into but that doesn't mean I have to like it?
Houston SUCKS....just wanted to echo that. Except for the restaurants, though....they rock. But the rest sucks. But why am I telling you something you already know? Maybe just to say "hi" and it's nice to see you're still alive.
I remember us talking about Portland many years ago. Well, I've made a PA contact in the Portland area who said could get me a job up there if I wanted after school. So now I'm seriously considering it.
There may be something else waiting for you in Houston and you just haven't gotten to it yet. It's the first thing that popped into my head because my brother in law moved to Los Angeles - even though he hates crowds, heat, smog and traffic. But he did it because he wanted to be a writer (scripts) and thought that's where he needed to be. He ended up meeting, falling in love with, and marrying his wife. Now he believes the whole reason he ended up in LA was to meet her.
Your stay in Houston, however brief it ends up being, may yield something profound... even if it's as simple as "oh yeah, *that's* why I didn't want to live here. Won't make that mistake again."

That, and I was attempting to give encouragement.
