Oh, Steve. My heart breaks for the poor guy.

Very nice. I enjoyed it a lot. There needed to be more moments like this in the comics. =)

Thank you, Alison! :)

Cap always has that air of tragedy around him, poor dear. Thank goodness he has Tony! :)

As someone who loves antique stores, especially ones in sleepy Massachusetts towns, I totally feel for Steve ♥

*nods*

Antique stores, especially in old barns, are the best!

Poor Steve! :(

This is sweet and a little sad, for Steve, at the same time. I'm glad he has Tony there with him. :-)

Me, too! Because those memories can sure overwhelm a guy.

I didn't indicate it in this story, but this could be considered pre-Winter Soldier, so Steve thinks Bucky is dead. I know a lot of people like the Winter Soldier thing, but I like the tragedy of loss better.

I was definitely thinking of this as pre-Winter Soldier, too.

I also prefer the tragedy of loss, but I think you don't entirely lose that with the Winter Soldier arc. Steve did totally believe that he was dead for years and years, after all.

I have a more biased reason for not liking the arc in a lot of ways. I mean, it was well told and interesting, but I can't shake the feeling that Bucky coming back either contributed to the decision to kill off Steve, or was an integral part of the plan to kill Steve from the beginning.

True, but I think it cheapens it just a little when "Guess what, he's been alive all this time!" I just think comics have cheapened death to the point that it's ridiculous. When someone dies, you know they're coming back, so what's the point?

Considering the way TPTB's minds work, you're probably right!
