Oh poor Clark! What a horrible thing for him to have gone through! I'm glad that Bruce saved him and is so dedicated to helping him feel better. Wonderful imagry of the collar. Thank you so much for this one, Brady!

I'm afraid my Clark wasn't so lucky with staying out of Lionel's grasp as yours was. Though maybe something happened that convinced Lex to give him up?

You're very welcome, Meya! Bruce tries to be so hard and brusque and yet he can't leave Clark to his fate.
Poor Clark, good thing he found a more caring master in Bruce. It was sad in the beginning of the story to hear of Clark's mistreatment, but Bruce's kindness towards Clark brought happiness in the end. Great story, I enjoyed reading it :D

Thanks, Angelina! :)
The scene in the library was the first one I had when I thought of what to write for these prompts, then the thought of poor Clark needing rescue came next. I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
Oh, this story made me tear up. Poor Clark! I wanted to cuddle him and give him lots of pie. After I killed Lionel on his behalf of course. You're really good at writing emotions ... you just know how to tug at our heartstrings.
I'm glad that he found a better master with Bruce. I cheered Bruce on when he snapped at the dealer who whipped Clark.
Poor Clark... I love Bruce basically barking at the guy with the whip when he buys Clark. And then Bruce being so understanding, and not wanting to call Clark, just waiting for him to come out on his own. Such a kind and gentle guy under that stern facade. :)
For some reason, what got to me most was the repeated image of Dick constantly rocking and bouncing on the balls of his feet. XD That boy just can't stand still... And him being either totally oblivious or unaffected by Clark's haunted eyes... that kid is basically personified sweetness--which probably helped Clark heal up a bit. :)

We know how protective Bruce gets! :) He just wouldn't put up with the slave dealer's cruelty. And, yes, he's understanding and while he sometimes misses the clues, he can be very perceptive.

Dick is a dynamo! :)
And him being either totally oblivious or unaffected by Clark's haunted eyes
He's aware of Clark's pain but his natural ebullience is the best medicine. :)

Yeah, Lionel is really at his worst in this 'verse. :(

Bruce is truly a champion of the downtrodden. He hates injustice.
Wonderful job!
Thank you, sweets! :)
