Graduation and Burning Things!

Last week was my third year students' graduation ceremony. It was filled with lots of mothers and non-heated gym coldness. I even got to see some of the "Yankee" students, which are basically Japanese redneck kids who never ever came to school, but came to the graduation for attention. "Last week was..." Do you realize you are usually Japanese sentence structure? 先週は... I find myself doing that all the time these days. I drunkenly threw my camera to the pavement as well. It's got a nice dent in it now, but works just fine. I like to think of it as an added "intuitive grip".

Yeah I'm really bad about using Japanese sentence structure in English. I find myself having to rewrite stuff on my journal because it sounds too weird.

I just hope I don't get as bad as my Japanese teacher in high school whom everyone made fun of.

Nope, another English teacher who was helping carry behind me kept yelling "Put this thing down! Burn it already!" though.

People did run around the fire as if they were burning someone at the stake if that counts.

Close enough. Do you recognize that song in the video? I went to a Japanese fast food restaraunt at the mall this past weekend. Japanese fast food isn't good at all.

It's definitely something I've heard before. It also sounds like the song from the Heavy Metal Sponge Bob Square Pants video.

I don't think so. Maybe a yakuza in training. He couldn't have been too far out of high school, and he was totally doing it for attention which a real yakuza probably wouldn't want to do.
