Wah. Brought the end of Serenity back in a rush. Very powerful. Poor Zoe. I thought this worked a treat though. Lovely.

Thank you. This was so hard for me to write, trying to recapture the thrust of the canon events filtered through my AU; I'm glad it worked.

This may be belated; it's also AWESOME. Oh, this is Zoe! This is Zoe to the core! *cheers*

Thank you. I'm not normally a Zoe writer-- my Firefly fic tends to run more to Mal and/or River-- but her voice just took over for me in this story. I'm very glad you liked it!

Here from inlovewithnight rec.

That piece just sucked me in. Well done. With such a close AU to canon, I dreaded the end, and sure enough, it was another emotional whammy.

Now I'm thinking about a Zoe/River alliance, and wouldn't _that_ be some flying.

Thank you. It was a challenge for me, reinterpreting Firefly this way, but it felt more powerful to me to keep it as close to canon as possible than to strike out on my own.

That was my thought, there at the end. My original conception of the story was along the lines of "Brain!Zoe and her three Brawns", but it insisted on ending on me before I could get into River's role much.
