Jason Gets a License to Kill

Yesterday was a great day for freedom-loving, law-abiding citizens everywhere, and a dire one for criminals or people who just generally piss me off. Yesterday, the Missus and I both got our concealed weapon permits for Pennsylvania. Finally I have the government’s sanction to stroll around public with a loaded weapon tucked under my shirt ( Read more... )

Lol! Yeah, we keep a shotgun under the bed and everyone thinks we're nuts. I don't have any real desire to carry a concealed weapon, though. It's a big responsibility.

I'm glad you're enjoying yours, though. Try to remember that extreme stupidity is not (though it might seem to be, and perhaps ought to be) a physical attack that allows you to defend yourself. ;)

I went shooting yesterday with a coworker. Somehow my game was off and I was less accurate than I usually am. Also, my revolver got a bit cocked up at the end - double action wouldn't work correctly (but single action would -- this is the exact opposite of the problem I had a few months ago where single action wouldn't work. I fixed that by taking the gun apart and adjusting the trigger stop).

Congrats on the carry permit! As for safety features, you should say "screw 'em all" and get a revolver. The only safety feature there is a heavy trigger pull. Plus you look badass with one!

Yeah, but revolvers cost just as much as a semi-auto. What a gyp!

Revolvers are accurate, elegant, and have a proven track record - there are still serviceable revolvers from as far back as the 1880's. What do you need more than 6 bullets for, anyhow? You starting a revolution?

(they make 8-round revolvers, btw. Jerry Miculek speed-shoots with one)

I'm still here. I've just been working on my novel(s). It sucks away all of my writing energy.

Understandable. :) How is the sequel coming? Have you had any luck finding a publisher?
